Today i got home from crazy skiing city called Schladming in Austria...Schladming held one of the biggest big air invitational events in Europe, Newschool picknick.
The setup of the really good shaped, not big jump was positioned in the arena of the Olympia stadion. 30 riders from all over the world was challenging the 2 quali runs and after 3 final runs only 10 of them progressed to finals. After a practice we thought that kicker is too small for throwing some big tricks and inrun and landing was really sketchy because of the slushy snow. But after it got seriouse and tricks like sw14, swdouble cork 12, double cork 10, double flatspin, sw12, sw10 were dialed by the big names like Russ Henshaw (winner), Bene Mayr (2nd), Elias Ambuhl (3rd), Patrick Hollaus, Fabio Studer, Kim Boberg, David Lesh, Steffen Hamre, Thomas Hlawitchka,....
I ended up dying in the ground at the practice. I did smooth sw7 nose and landed on the slushy landing, my ski caught the edge and i ended up twisting my knee, falling into hard packed landing and ended at the bottom with dislocated shoulder and bumped knee...I ate some painkillers and decided to try only qualis without further practice. In the qualis i did sw7 which was landed a little bit too far and got my arm down and revert and almost fell on sketchy transition of the landing, so i wasn't happy with a trick but just with the fact i didn't end my season at that point... sometimes smart decisions are better than a poker face.
we ended partying in Tenne which was really sick. Guys are like family and the whole european comunnity is sticking together more than anything, so i am stoked what we are about to see in next seasons.
so...i can not go to freeski open in Laax because of my late registration so instead i'm about to take rehab now for a week or two, depends on progress and than film some kicker shots, maybe some pow and some trip to some nordic country, hopefully...that's it that's all
